Apricot Smoothies

Apricot Smoothies, for a subtle, late summer treat.

One of my favorites fruits is the Apricot, mainly because of it’s subtle flavors. Fresh Apricots have a very short season but dried and preserved (tinned/canned?) are always available.

Smoothies and Health:

A medium sized APRICOT contains: Calories 70, Protein 0.49 grams, Fiber 0.7 grams.
Major Vitamins: A, Niacin, B1, B6, C, E, K
Major Minerals: Potassium, Phosphorus, Calcium, Magnesium and Iron.

Apricot Smoothies
These recipes include both the canned and fresh varieties, combined with Yoghurt and other fruits such as Banana, Nectarine and Orange.

One of the tricks, of course, is not to overwhelm the subtle taste of the Apricot itself with other additives.

Try these when the Apricots are fresh…I just love them!

APRICOT MANGO SMOOTHIE

6 oz. light (reduced sugar) fat-free Apricot-Mango yogurt
(This is one container of Yoplait)
1 cup. Crystal Light lemonade
1/2 Banana
5-6 canned Apricot halves.

Put all ingredients into blender. Blend well until smoothie consistency is reached!

APRICOT NECTARINE SMOOTHIE

1/2 Nectarine
1 Apricot
6 oz. light (reduced sugar) fat-free Peach Yogurt, frozen
(This is one container of Yoplait)
4 oz. Crystal Light or other sugar-free Lemonade.

Put all ingredients into blender. Blend until smoothie consistency is reached!

APRICOT SMOOTHIE

1/4 cup Orange juice
1/2 cup plain, low-fat Yogurt
1/2 cup peeled, pitted and chopped fresh Apricots
Honey to taste.

Place all the ingredients in a blender. Blend on high speed until smooth. Enjoy!

Great Apricot Smoothies for you to make, full of goodness and a real healthy summer refreshment for the whole family. Look out for the fresh fruit in your neighborhood.

And don’t forget that Apricots are quite easy to preserve for the winter, with fresh fruit, some syrups and some Mason Jars you will be able to make these great fruit drinks all though the winter as well!

Hi, I am Alice and I love smoothies and juice. Juicing & smoothies are exciting, but sometimes it can be very frustrating if you use the wrong equipment. I set up to analyze different kinds of juicers and smoothies, so we can make an educated choice.
