Cherry Smoothies

Cherry Smoothies are a little unusual for some reason, even though cherries contain some healthy ingredients, and the color is always sure to attract. In season you should always use ripe, fresh cherries, slightly frosted in the freezer and frozen cherries in the winter months.

Here in the Pacific Northwest I find well ripened ‘Bing’ cherries to blend the best, because they are very high in sugar and in juice content. We need more Cherry Smoothie recipes…have you got any to share with us?

One cup of cherries contains about one and one half grams of protein, almost 3 grams of dietary fiber and represents about 88 calories. These naturally healthy fruits are rich in Potassium and high in Vitamin A and Vitamin C, plus numerous other vitamins and minerals in small quantities: if only we could have these little fruit marvels around all year long! Personally I have my own ‘Montmerency’ (slightly sour) cherry tree to pick from once a summer.

Hi, I am Alice and I love smoothies and juice. Juicing & smoothies are exciting, but sometimes it can be very frustrating if you use the wrong equipment. I set up to analyze different kinds of juicers and smoothies, so we can make an educated choice.
