Papaya Smoothies

Paw Paw or Papaya Smoothies are a little unusual. Depending on what other ingredients you include in the smoothie they tend to have a very subtle, tropical flavor, although the juice from the Papaya itself is not a strong taste.

I personally love Papaya with a touch of lime added but you will have your own personal favorite. Whatever it is, make sure you try at least one of these wonderful Papaya Smoothies recipes.

Papaya Smoothies and Health

Papayas come in a variety of shapes and sizes and have been known to weigh as much as 20 lbs. They are generally an elongated oval in shape and a greenish yellow in color. Try to avoid those with black spots on the skin.

Papaya is a great source of Vitamin A and Vitamin C and also contains a substance called ‘Papain’ which is a digestive enzyme. Evidently the black seeds in the center are also edible and can make a rather good salad dressing.

One medium Papaya contains about 120 calories, no fat and no sodium. It is high in Potassium and Vitamin C and is a good source of dietary fiber…plus about 18 grams of sugar!

PAPAYA BERRY SMOOTHIE

Puree in blender 30-45 seconds.
